Eagle Farm Look - April 21
Weather: Fine Rail: Out 5m Entire Circuit Track: Dead 5 at 7.45am. Factors: Winter Carnival looms, invaders arriving.
Race 1: If you follow the money trail first-starter Better Than Ready is over the line but this field will be no pushover. On exposed form Noogoora Burr has done plenty for his comeback run and is smart. Expect another honest run from Dansonate. Sippin’ Bundy is value and a watch on Heinrich first-starter Trees A Crowd.
Race 2: Tough race here. Dodging Eddie rises in grade but was impressive last start, alley only concern. Do not want to take the short odds on offer for Contract Caterer, also hampered by wide gate. Topweight Loves A Challenge in the mix, weight a worry. Murrumba Downs solid last start nicely weighted. Carn drawn well and will give some cheek.
Race 3: Celtic Dancer nicely weighted with claim, should get an easy lead here and prove hard to run down. Oak Street and Solzhenitsyn hampered by wide draws, Oak Street has the benefit of early speed. Absent Friends races well fresh.
Numbers: 10,4,3,13. Roughie: (12) Machination.
Race 4: If they’re not careful speed machines Saraji and Sydney visitor Didntcostalot might set it up for a backmarker but both look solid hopes in a quality field. Plenty of money to say Easy Running is ready for big first-up effort and she gets a nice run from the two gate. Kelbenjar honest and State Of Wealth can do better this prep, but maybe not today.
Race 5: Three smart sprinters Listen Son and Fillydelphia and Carry Me Bluey resume here. All have trialled/jumped out and the winner should come from that trio, finding the order is the tough part. Gundy Son a value hope.
Race 6: Like this mare Risk Aversion, on paper disappointed last start but had big gap between runs and will be fitter for this. Plenty of speed in the race so she should get the gun run. Funtantes is classy and is a strong hope also.
Race 7: Hidden Jewel backs-up here after nice effort last week, back against her own sex she looks well placed, slight query on the seven days and up to a mile. Short odds not appealing. Urban Rocker from the Waller stable deserves respect. Wish Bevico Girl had a better gate. Topweight Playtime has plenty of ability and great odds.
Race 8: Aweful race to finish on. Old-timer Triple Honour is well weighted and gets his chance to win again. Diago andf Mr Light Blue racing well. Streets Away fitter for first-up run.
