Queen's Cup Day, Eagle Farm Weather: Fine Track Condition: Dead 5 Rail Position: Out 1m entire circuit
Race 1: Hidden Kisses struck trouble Ipswich, can do better here. One Lickety Split races well fresh, 3kg claim brings into the mix. Liesele racing in peak form, gets her chance here. War Charm has solid Sydney form, 2kg claim sees nice weight drop on last start.
Race 2: Terrible betting race. Angusroy failed 1800m then won mile race, back to 1800m here. Eureka Jack fitter, can improve. Contract Caterer freshened. Cyclone Al had his birthday last start, $4.40 pre-post, not for mine.
Numbers: 4,12,5,15 (if you must).
Race 3: Newcastle visitor Beaufort Gyre should box seat and be hard to beat. Chilean Plum beaten by smart one last start, bad alley a worry. Royal Jester takes on older horses, has trialled well. Night Chills ran good race latest, should race handy. Love Somebody, trialled well in the mix.
Roughie: (12) Royal Jester.
Race 4: Saluter is drawn to get a cushy run and form has been sound, without winning. Caldetes steps up to 1400m and gives the impression will handle the trip. Discreet will find this easier after no luck behind Hoss Amour latest. Caliente will be hitting the line. Fantisha had no luck at Ipswich last start, will need luck from the bad gate.
Roughie: (5) Bee Plus.
Race 5: Not sure how much Maija Vance will be able to use of her 3kg claim on Dusty Gold. It will be important as the gelding will meet Fire Up Fifi better at the weights, but just how much better is not known until they weigh out. Bianca Jewel is drawn wide and with any luck will still figure here. St Germaine down in class. Vipera Gold no luck last start.
Race 6: One of the rare two-mile flat races left and it will be a great spectacle, but not a great betting race. Maythehorsebemagic placed this distance two starts back gives him the edge. Booming and Roi D'jeu should run it out.
Race 7: Griffon and Adnocon should fight this out. Slight leaning towards Adnocon from the good gate and he did not have a lot of luck Ipswich. Havatryst runs his best races here.
Race 8: Black Magic was an eye-catcher last start, this trip should suit. Divine City will benefit by the claim and should relish the 1400m on the big track. Viking Hero deserves another chance after dissapointing last start. Volkhere will appreciate the drop in class. Epic Terra is on speed runner, chance if bias favouring on-pacers.
