Eagle Farm Look - April 7
Weather: Fine Track Rating: Good 3, 8.00am Factors: First time in weeks horses will race on top of the ground
Race 1: Diago won well last start, but short odds not appealing. Contract Caterer went out hard in Twba Cup should race well. Loves a Challenge will appreciate good track, fitter and can improve.
Race 2: Four last start (rain affected track) winners, Outback Grande, Lohan, Noble Jester and Kevejohn go around here. Outback Grande is nicely in with the claim for Maija Vance, Kevejohn yet to win on dry track. Beaten last start favourite Arctic should be peaking now and looks nicely placed.
Race 3: Barring surprises from first starters this looks a race in three. Topweight Dansonate, Bam's Boy and Royal Jester. Dansonate is super consistent winning first-up on a heavy track. However, hard runs in the wet can sometimes flatten horses, and take a toll when second-up. Royal Jester has trialled well and will probably start a well supported favourite.
Race 4: Not a good betting race, few average horses here. Bianca Jewel takes time to come to hand and should be primed now after two runs from a spell. Blow A Kiss racing well and should get the gun run. Gunner Knox races well second-up.
Race 5: Marked is one that should appreciate the good track but rises 3 kilograms on his last run, which is a concern. Sir Stanley is nicely placed on the minimum and Dodging Eddie is racing like this trip will suit. Daad's Overtime is good odds and can improve on top of the ground.
Race 6: Empress Me will go back from the wide draw and if she gets any luck in running is the one to beat. Judy's Joy on the other hand will box seat, only query on her is that she has been up for a while. Another Superior will again run an honest race. Rocksan should appreciate the bigger track after failing at Doomben last start.
Numbers: 4,3,11,14. Roughie: 16.
Race 7: Norocos won well last start, should lead again and prove hard to run down. Risk Aversion freshened, if right the one to beat but short odds not appealing.
Race 8: I expect Oak Street and Theft to battle for favoutism and also fight out the finish. Theft has a wide gate to overcome but with speed inside him could wind-up in a nice spot. Like Oak Street, he will appreciate a dry track and both ran well last start when not suited. Value hopes are De Bois and Solzhenitsyn.
