Total Scratchings: 13; General Comment: Finalised 19/5 8.45am
Factor: Form reversals likely. Plenty of runners coming here after racing on a bog at the Gold Coast last start
Race 1: Skating On Ice resumes here, goes well fresh and one of the main chances. Ruapehu Boy didn’t handle heavy last start, fitter for the run. Audacious Spirit another certain to be fitter for last start. Falino class runner, form before ease-up was patchy, but beats these if right.
Race 2: Sizzling was brilliant first-up. Might be looking for longer, but should still be too good.
Race 3: Not a good betting race. Firebolt freshened after Sydney campaign unbeaten in two runs this track and distance. Solzhenhitsyn faces toughest test, looks up to these. Ginga Dude won well then setback, no confidence.
Race 4: Wealth Princess, one run in two years was good, class mare but short odds not enticing. Parables ran a great race in a bog at Gold Coast and will be hitting the line. Alltherightmoves deserves another chance after failing in heavy latest. Risk Aversion honest, toughest test here.
Roughie: (14) Lucky Morna.
Race 5: Oaks preview. Who is wound up? NZ oaks combatants Quintessential and Miss Artistic are fitter for one run from a break and Miss Artistic likely to race closer and be suited here. Pretty Pins is likely improver after failing in bog last start. Goldslick ran super last start, class a query, but ran on strongly.
Roughie: (8) Goldslick.
Race 6: Really nice lot of three-year-olds here. Forget Easy Running went around last start. He didn’t handle the wet and will be much better suited here. If he runs up to his first-up effort he’ll give Mental a run for his money. Locals Morning Captain, Biggles and Double Impact all have hopes.
Roughie: (11) State Of Wealth.
Race 7: Manighar is racing in great form and should be too good for these. Mawingo would have taken improvement from Gold Coast run.
Race 8: Free Wheeling should get the gun run and be hard to beat. Smokin; Joey in career best form, alley a worry. Tiger Tees super consistent also drawn wide. Carry Me Bluey didn’t handle the wet latest, likely improver. By all reports Belltone going super on the track, 1350m first-up?
