Rail: 3 metres entire course.
Track: Good 3.
Factors: Track surface. Doomben copping a hiding and many jockeys likened last week's surface to racing on bitumen so pity the poor horses. Best Bet: Hi Son (Race 9). Best Value: Benny's Buttons (Race 8). No Value: General Exhibit (Race 3).
Celestial Dragon scored on heavy track latest, has to be a query on this harder surface. Sagatona made up plenty of ground on debut, sure to be improved, but will have to go back from wide gate again. Divine Service had the gun run for debut win, drawn to box seat again.
Numbers: 2, 1, 7, 5.
The Black Superman chases hat-trick, didn't beat much last start. Avaladyluck consistent without winning many, this looks a nice race. Lennie's Choice find this easier than last two when chased Rocky King, big weight a worry. Seeking More knocked-up when resuming, has trialled again since and good second-up record.
Numbers: 2, 7, 1, 6.
Excellantes resumes, trialled okay and should tag the leader here and be hard to beat. Rocket To Glory on speed runner, can improve and take running down. Viking Heart turned in eye-catching run when resuming, likes it longer, but will be hitting the line. General Exhibit ran super when resuming, in money five from five here, the one to beat again, but no value.
Numbers: 8ew, 6, 1, 2.
Ziggie's Dance fair effort latest, should handle step up in distance. Sezwho had all the favours latest, down in grade and in well with claim. In A Storm honest, but another that doesn't win many and odds not appealing. Jopa finished hard last start, close to another win, but may need luck.
Numbers: 4, 14, 11, 5.
Volkhere is honest, but prefer with sting out of the track. Catalonia forever running on, in mix with light weight. Emerald Duke was super impressive in heavy last start, looks smart horse on the rise and trip should suit. Night Chills got back and no luck latest, should eb running on and has no weight.
Numbers: 2, 6, 12, 1.
Tough because most of these stepping up to longer trip for first time. Miss Husson held up last start and should have finished closer. Our Zidane flashed home from well back, which gives the impression this distance will suit. Singa's Lady ploughed through heavy going to win GC midweek, big step up in grade, but should be rock hard. Santoya Cat should race on the speed, 59kg big ask.
Numbers: 3, 4, 7, 1.
Ergo has sound NSW country record and was impressive winner Mudgee latest. Cracco has nice weight drop and should get gun run. Vacallo been around the money and this looks nice race with claim. Bingo Rose ran home in race with hot early speed, should be hitting the line again. Pretty Gully is consistent and has claims against average opposition.
Numbers: 14, 10, 1, 4.
Benny's Buttons struck trouble and injured in run latest, expect improvement here. Lucky Hussler scored solid win first-up, Grp 3 placed, but inconsistent for mine. Love Rocks and Qfighter filled the quinella latest and they should be prominent again. Mahisara won Caulfield latest, weighted to best and alley no help, but will race handy. Gundy Son wasn't far away latest, one for exotics.
Numbers: 4, 13, 2, 5.
Tough race to finish on. Hi Son is nice horse fitter for two runs from a spell, has 3kg claimer and if secures trouble free passage, should be too good. Mac's Addicition won well in easier grade, 'last race' Larry is a bonus. Trakstar turned in good second-up effort when hit line strongly, good alley should see him closer here. Altai Warrior, up in weight, but should box seat and be in the mix.
Numbers: 7x, 9, 2, 12.
