Well I received the bad news this afternoon that I will miss the Magic Millions carnival next month.

One of the hardest things I had to do today was ring Kelso Wood and connections to let them know I would not be able to ride Sizzling in the Guineas.

I'm devastated to miss the ride. He's my favourite horse and the connections have been great supporters and I wish them well with the colt.  I am very grateful they are still allowing me to ride Sizzling in the Vo Rogue Plate next Saturday.

I have a nice book of rides at Doomben and after that I will ride at the Goldmarket meeting on New Years day, which will be my last meeting before I start treatment.

While I am bitterly disappointed about having to stop riding, I am pleased to have a start date for my cancer treatment. I commence seven weeks of radiation therapy on January 7.

My goal is to be back riding in time for the winter carnival and reunite with Sizzling there.

Once again I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the well wishers for their continued support and especially to my colleagues, the industry participants.

I can assure you all I will be back better than ever.

Chris, you walked past me in Pre-Op at RBH in your hospital gown as I sat there in mine, awaiting my cancer op. (neck).I had big plans prior to being told of the cancer. If you are going to go back to riding again, I will go ahead with my plans.
